The procedure was not all that bad. The first visit was limited to 1/3 of the colon with 1 'fatty' polyp removed - non-cancerous. This procedure produced no 'uncomfortable' occurrences.
The second visit, one month later, was a full colonoscopy revealing no additional polyps or lesions.
There is very slight spotting that is normal following radiation treatment for prostate cancer.
And a small area of 'Mild diverticulitis', which the Mayo Clinic states: "can be treated with rest, changes in your diet and antibiotics. Severe or recurring diverticulitis may require surgery."

Obesity. Being seriously overweight increases your odds of developing diverticulitis.
